Job summary

AMETEK has an opening for a mid‑level Mechanical Engineer focused on enclosures and packaging for RF power amplifier products. You will own mechanical design decisions from concept through production and field support, collaborating with electrical, RF, and PCB layout engineers, and supervising a Mechanical Draftsperson as needed.

The role requires 4–7 years of related experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, and hands‑on experience with machined metal manufacturing and thermal management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Approximately 4–7 years of experience in mechanical design of electronic or electromechanical packaging/enclosures.
• Proficient in SolidWorks (modeling, drawings, simulation/FEA).
• Experience with machined metal manufacturing processes (CNC, casting, extrusion) and sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical enclosures, chassis, and packaging for RF power amplifier products.
• Perform 3D modeling, drawings, and design work in SolidWorks for new products and sustaining/legacy support.
• Conduct thermal and cooling analysis for high-power RF assemblies to manage thermal performance.
• Perform FEA for enclosure and packaging designs.
• Own BOM management, assembly guides, and documentation via PLM systems.
• Mentor drafting staff and provide technical direction without HR responsibilities.
