Job summary

AMETEK's Binghamton, NY facility seeks an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to help develop and optimize processes for electronic and electro-mechanical assembly, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations.

You'll design tooling, support NPI, analyze issues, drive continuous improvement, and serve as SME on processes while training staff. This role is ideal for a recent graduate eager to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a technical production environment.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for electronic and electro-mechanical assembly, including workflow and equipment layout.
• Design and deploy tooling and fixtures to improve production efficiency, quality, and repeatability.
• Evaluate manufacturing needs and assist in the justification of capital equipment investments to support capacity and process improvements.
• Partner with Design Engineering to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability (DFM) and successfully transitioned into production.
• Participate in the introduction and implementation of new products into the production environment, including validation of processes, tooling, and documentation.
• Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve yield and throughput.
• Become the SME for various processes and equipment on the manufacturing floor. Provide operator feedback geared towards quality improvement.
• Train and support manufacturing personnel on processes, tools, and best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Sales to achieve business and operational objectives.
