Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead conveyor and sortation engineering for aftermarket projects. You will own mechanical design through field execution, mentoring teammates, and coordinating with controls, sales, and project management to deliver scoped, priced, and executable solutions.

You will develop ROM budgets, obtain vendor quotes, and ensure compliance with engineering standards while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 7 years of material handling experience, including conveyor/sortation applications or proposal engineering.
• Experience executing material handling projects; AS/RS or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development for conveyor and sortation retrofits/upgrades/expansions.
• Evaluate installed equipment and make reuse/refurbish/replace recommendations.
• Perform throughput, drive sizing, belt pull, and sorter capacity calculations.
• Prepare budgets, estimates, and technical proposals for aftermarket opportunities.
• Coordinate with controls, electrical, software, and project teams to ensure fit within constraints.
• Travel up to 20% for site surveys and field support.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
