Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with substantial related experience.
  • Experience designing gas turbine hardware or rotating machinery.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as precision forging, casting, machining, coating and inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical design expertise and use analytical tools to solve deviant hardware issues.
  • Propose hardware redesigns to improve manufacturability and implement changes via drawings.
  • Act as technical focal for supplier qualifications of special processes (casting, milling, coatings, inspection).
  • Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments at component, assembly, and system levels.
  • Follow standard work and continuously improve design and manufacturing processes.
