Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our professional consulting services team. In this role, you will lead the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for a variety of projects.

Responsibilities include overseeing all phases of project lifecycle, developing design documents, and mentoring engineers in training. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, be a licensed Professional Engineer, and possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in designing HVAC and Plumbing systems.
• Strong understanding of all phases of project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums.
• Develop design documents including drawings and specifications.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals and shop drawings.
• Develop HVAC calculations including building cooling and heating load.
• Travel to job sites in your state of residence and other states (5%).
