Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical to guide the technical design of data center projects as a subject matter expert, mentor, and resource to the technical team. The role includes supervising and directing work of project engineers and designers, with accountability for concept through construction quality.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in mission critical design, a PE license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10+ years in related industry and mission critical/data center experience.
• Registered PE license or equivalent certification.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills; ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit; knowledge of hydraulic modeling and CFD tools.

Responsibilities

• Guide design of data center projects as SME, mentor, and resource to the team.
• Lead and direct work of project engineers and designers; manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate across disciplines; support QA/QC and design reviews.
• Develop design guides, memos, and templates; stay current with industry requirements.
• Provide client-facing communications and ensure design solutions meet objectives.
