Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for our Dallas, TX office. You will provide senior technical leadership, set design direction, mentor staff, and ensure quality delivery on complex building projects across healthcare, commercial, education and mission‑critical sectors.

The role requires a PE license and 10–15+ years of experience in building systems, with strong leadership, budgeting, and risk management skills to grow the practice and guide multi‑disciplinary teams to successful

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • PE license required.
  • 10–15+ years of building systems engineering experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior‑level technical leadership for design and construction administration of mechanical systems across multiple sectors.
  • Establish design strategies aligned with client goals and lifecycle costs.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record or senior reviewer; ensure codes and standards compliance.
  • Lead coordination across disciplines and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Champion QA/QC, peer reviews, and adherence to WSP standards.
