Job summary

WSP in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team. You will lead mechanical design and analysis for infrastructure, building, and construction projects, with emphasis on temperature control, air distribution, hydronic and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–7 years of post-education experience in engineering.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design/build processes.
  • Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Knowledge of reducing hazardous substances and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage small to mid-size projects and guide junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data collection and analysis methods from sites, surveys, drawings, and reports.
  • Perform engineering work and assess site conditions for conformance with standards.
  • Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates with safety and phasing considerations.
  • Apply modeling, load calculations, and design requirements for proper installation.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and drawings for presentation.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers and provide guidance on projects.
  • Ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance across work streams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver multi-site projects.
