Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the Property and Buildings Team, delivering mechanical design for a range of projects.

You will prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications, set deadlines, and coordinate with architects, owners, and building managers to meet project goals while advancing your professional growth within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of post-education engineering experience with mechanical design.
• Engineer in Training Certification (EIT).
• Knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative team.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Experience with Horizon or Project Resource Management software is preferred.
• Ability to meet and exceed client expectations and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Set deadlines and assigns responsibilities.
• Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
• Design mechanical systems including calculations of heating and cooling loads while adhering to QA/QC.
• Select and layout mechanical equipment such as pumps, chiller, fans and boilers.
• Develop project specifications.
• Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss projects.
• Responsible for meeting client’s project goals and objectives.
• Assist in business development by pursuing new work including client presentations.
• Mentor junior firm members and support HR efforts.
• Enhance firm reputation by owning responsibilities and delivering client requests.
