Job summary

TYLin’s Aviation team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design fuel storage and distribution systems for airports, ports, and railyard projects. The role also involves HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection coordination on industrial facilities.

You will produce contract drawings, specs, and reports with an emphasis on safety and reliability. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in fuel systems, strong knowledge of relevant standards, and a collaborative mindset to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s a plus.
• 8+ years of fuel systems experience, ideally in aviation.
• Knowledge of fuel system controls, emergency shut off, leak detection.
• HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design experience.
• PE license preferred or in progress.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support design of fuel storage and distribution systems.
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection for facilities.
• Prepare drawings, specs, reports and design docs.
• Perform calculations and surge modeling.
• Adhere to NFPA, API, ATA 103, EI 1540, JIG, ASHRAE and local codes.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Travel as needed.
