Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design fuel storage and distribution systems for airports, ports, and railyard facilities, focusing on aviation fuel system design. The role emphasizes technical excellence, problem-solving, and collaboration to deliver safe and reliable infrastructure.

You will also contribute to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design where applicable, perform calculations and modeling, mentor junior engineers, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• 8+ years of fuel systems mechanical engineering experience, ideally in aviation.
• Technical knowledge in fuel system controls, emergency fuel shut off, leak detection, and inventory management systems.
• Technical knowledge and experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design.
• Working knowledge of key engineering standards and fuel systems design criteria.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality design deliverables with attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset and teamwork across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• PE license preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical design of fuel storage and distribution systems.
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for industrial facilities.
• Prepare contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and surge modeling for safe designs.
• Apply NFPA, API, ATA 103, EI 1540, JIG, ASHRAE and local codes.
• Collaborate with architects, structural, electrical, and fire safety engineers.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and support design excellence.
• Mentor junior engineers and support learning
• Travel as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
