Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical design and testing in maritime, aerospace, or defense systems.
• Proven CAD skills with Siemens NX.
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within Maritime group to design, develop, and deliver robust support systems for Copperhead UUVs across deployment, recovery, operation, and maintenance.
• Develop mechanical solutions for launch/recovery mechanisms, handling gear, transportation and storage, and testing equipment.
• Manage vendors for off-the-shelf components and outsourced manufacturing of support systems.
• Own and drive mechanical systems development from concept to low-rate production.
• Lead requirements definition, propose solutions, and establish verification methodologies for support systems.
• Work with electrical, software, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated, cost-effective systems.
• Lead design reviews, perform analyses, visit vendors, prototype, and implement hardware test plans.
• Contribute to tools, templates, processes, and standards of the team.
• Cultivate a positive, energetic, and collaborative team environment.
