Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to advance the Copperhead maritime vehicle support systems, collaborating with electrical and software teams to ensure reliable mission readiness in demanding environments.

This role involves designing deployment, recovery, and maintenance hardware, coordinating vendors, and driving concepts from idea to low-rate production, with a focus on robust, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of mechanical design and testing in maritime, aerospace, or defense.
• Proven CAD skills and the ability to produce high-quality drawings.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver robust support systems for Copperhead UUVs across deployment, recovery, and maintenance.
• Develop mechanical solutions for launch/recovery, handling gear, transport, and testing equipment.
• Manage vendors for off-the-shelf components and outsourced manufacturing.
• Own mechanical systems from concept to low-rate production.
• Define requirements and evaluate solutions for support systems.
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure integrated performance.
• Lead design reviews and prototype hardware test plans.
