Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the Greater Kansas City area is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Automotive OEM team. You will lead the mechanical and electromechanical development for infotainment and vehicle electronics systems from concept through production.

You will apply CATIA, GD&T, and advanced packaging while coordinating with suppliers and OEM partners to deliver robust solutions for next-generation automotive technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated knowledge and capability using CATIA
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including die casting, sheet metal stamping, injection molding, machining

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of automotive electronic assemblies and electromechanical systems from concept through production
• Design moderately to highly complex mechanical components with focus on reliability and manufacturability
• Manage tradeoffs, define risk mitigation plans, and support product development plans
• Lead design reviews, tolerance analyses, and root-cause investigations
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimize fabrication and assembly
• Interface with OEM customers and external partners for technical discussions
