Garmin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Marine Product team at our U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

In this role, you will provide advanced engineering skills and project planning for mechanical or electromechanical solutions or systems within the marine product line. You will lead complex CAD work, validation testing, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust marine products, while exploring new technologies and ensuring compliance with Garmin

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and capability to use CAD software for completing complex mechanical designs
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Mansioni

• Perform complex mechanical designs as a Master CAD-user
• Design and evaluate injection molding, die casting, sheet metal stamping, machining, materials etc.
• Define test plans, mockups and test complex mechanical systems to validate design requirements
• Manage tradeoffs, risk mitigation plans, and project feasibility; provide input to product development plans and drive vendor evaluation
• Lead explorations of new technologies and estimate tooling, part cost, and design time
• Knowledge of Garmin product qualification tests and environmental testing
• Provide reliable solutions and propose process improvements and new procedures
