Job summary

Garmin Ltd. seeks a Senior Aviation Electrical/Design Engineer for its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The role focuses on embedded systems, high-speed interfaces, and sensor technologies, guiding designs from concept to mass production.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and our on-site manufacturing center to ensure robust, testable, and compliant products, driving innovation across aviation markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
• Excellent academic record (GPA ≥ 3.0)
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in complex schematic and PCB design with one or more PCBs
• Broad technical knowledge in electrical engineering (analog/digital/RF/DSP)

Responsibilities

• Design innovative electronic products for aviation markets.
• Lead complex analog/digital/RF designs for multi-PCB assemblies.
• Serve as Project Engineer on new designs or major changes.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to optimize PCB solutions considering thermal and space constraints.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to development plans.
• Develop experimental test programs to verify compliance with regulations and quality guidelines.
• Analyze test data to ensure designs meet performance specs.
• Interface with Test Engineers and factory personnel for testing and production.
• Evaluate latest components and perform cost/performance tradeoffs.
