Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the Greater Kansas City area is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Marine product team.

You will provide advanced engineering skills and project planning for mechanical or electromechanical solutions. In this role, you will tackle complex CAD designs, evaluate manufacturing processes (injection molding, metal stamping), and drive design robustness through testing and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to complete complex mechanical designs using CAD tools.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes (injection molding, die casting, stamping).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced mechanical design tasks and CAD modeling.
  • Specify test plans and verify complex systems meet design requirements.
  • Assess risk, drive project goals, and support product development plans.
  • Coordinate with vendors to evaluate designs and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Explore new technologies and estimate tooling, part cost, and design time.
  • Ensure adherence to Garmin product qualification tests and environmental requirements.
  • Develop reliable solutions and implement process improvements.
