Job summary

ABCO Automation, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering efforts for automated machines, robotic cells, and material handling systems. You will design, model, and specify components, lead risk and tolerance analyses, and drive manufacturability and DFMA improvements.

You will mentor engineers and interns while supporting fabrication, testing and installation activities to deliver projects on time and to spec.

Qualifications

• Experience designing highly complex automated machines and systems.
• Experience with DFMA and manufacturability reviews.
• Mentoring engineers and interns.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizes and designs highly complex automatic machines and systems.
• Manages the scope of mechanical design across projects, including supervising engineers and designers.
• Leads technical risk evaluation, functional decomposition and interface management.
• Ensures commitments on cost, schedule, function, performance, serviceability, and appearance.
• Leads design reviews covering tolerances, manufacturability, and material specs; DFMA.
• Supports fabrication, testing and installation activities to ensure conformance with design.
• Provides reports and presentations on designs and test results.
• Mentors other Mechanical Engineers, Interns and apprentices.
