Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead development of innovative commercial HVAC products, focusing on fans, motors, and air-movement systems. You will guide design, testing, and validation, ensuring quality and reliability across cross-functional teams.

You will apply fundamentals of airflow, heat transfer, and thermal performance to optimize subsystems and support critical product decisions, while meeting industry standards and DOE expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 5+ years leading design projects and validation.
• Experience with fans, motors, and air-movement systems.
• Ability to apply airflow, heat transfer, and thermal performance fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, testing, and sustaining unitary HVAC products.
• Lead cross-functional teams across design, testing, and validation.
• Develop lab test plans, analyze data, support product decisions.
• Comply with standards (UL, AHRI, ANSI, CSA, ASHRAE, DOE).
