Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of structural and cabinetry systems for unitary HVAC equipment. You will drive concepts through production, applying expertise in structural steel and sheet metal, coatings, and sealing strategies to deliver durable, cost-effective solutions.

You will guide cross-functional teams and use FEA and testing to validate performance while aligning with UL, AHRI, ASHRAE, IBC, and DOE standards to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
5+ years in product design, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
Experience leading technical design projects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of cabinet and structural systems for HVAC units from concept to production.
Apply structural steel and sheet metal design expertise to deliver cost-effective solutions.
Develop and validate designs using engineering analysis and testing, incl. FEA and data analysis.
Ensure compliance with UL, AHRI, ASHRAE, IBC, and DOE requirements.
Provide senior leadership to teams and drive continuous improvement.
