Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE in Columbus, USA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop and improve mechanical parts and assemblies for airfield lighting products. The role emphasizes part design, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacturability—from concepts and prototypes through supplier production and in-house assembly.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will design castings, injection-molded parts, fasteners, seals, and other hardware, collaborating with suppliers and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, part development, and manufacturing support.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or similar programs; SolidWorks PDM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and improve mechanical parts and assemblies for airfield lighting products.
• Develop designs for manufacturing processes such as casting and plastic injection molding.
• Document components for manufacturing and manage BOMs and drawings.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to meet performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability goals.
• Lead design improvements and root-cause investigations, support verification and production readiness.
• Travel domestically and internationally (<10%).
