Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Lighting design team. You will design, develop, and sustain aerospace lighting products for military and commercial applications, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure quality and reliability.

In this role, you’ll work in a 3D CAD environment, troubleshoot complex problems, and help deliver robust solutions. Familiarity with DO-160 and aerospace processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with 3D parametric CAD modeling (CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and understanding of engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical designs of aerospace lighting system components in 3D CAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.
• Create and maintain technical/manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers to ensure design compliance.
• Support or lead analyses (FEA, thermal) and cost-aware design decisions.
