Starkey, a leader in hearing technology, is seeking an Sr Mechanical Engineer I for Advanced Development in Eden Prairie, MN. The role focuses on innovative concept design for hearing aids, accessories, and sensor integration, moving concepts from concept through prototype and into product development with a cross-functional team.

The position emphasizes design verification, DFMEA, and efficient transition of concepts to product teams, with a strong requirement for CAD proficiency, materials

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in a related industry for Sr Mechanical Engineer I.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD (ProE) and design tools.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and tooling.
• Experience with DFMEA, DOE, GD&T, and product development best practices.

Aufgaben

• Develop innovative concept designs for standard and custom hearing aid products.
• Document design benefits, ROI, and market acceptance for concepts.
• Coordinate with suppliers to develop new processes and technologies.
• Create manufacturable designs aligned with industrial design intent.
• Produce CAD models and drawings communicating design intent with high quality.
• Lead project plans with tech leads and PMs to meet schedules and mitigate risks.
• Lead prototype builds and ensure design documentation and CAD package readiness.
• Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams and facilitate DVT/DFMEA.
• Support sensor integration into hearing aid products and collaborate across Advanced Development teams.
