Job summary

Bigbelly is seeking a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer to drive the development and launch of new products, from concept through production readiness and sustaining engineering. You will be hands-on building and testing validation samples while collaborating with global manufacturing, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to deliver high-quality systems.

You should have 7+ years of experience in mechanical systems, expertise with SolidWorks and PLM tools, and a track record of optimizing

Qualifications

• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D CAD design.
• Experience with PDM/PLM tools; Arena preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Hands-on prototype building and testing experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration abilities.
• On-site readiness at headquarters in Needham, MA.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering; graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-ready solutions for new products after advanced development.
• Provide technical leadership for start-of-production.
• Contribute ideas to improve performance of Bigbelly products.
• Assess how development decisions affect business outcomes.
• Triage field issues, identify root causes, implement fixes.
• Support supply chain through vendor selection and cost estimation.
• Assist in product certification for global distribution.
• Serve as a technical resource for account management and support teams.
