Sargent & Lundy in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Mechanical/Structural Designer to develop 3-D plant layout drawings under the Mechanical Project Lead, contributing to nuclear power project designs. You will tackle complex mechanical and structural challenges and prepare general arrangements, piping isometrics, and equipment layouts.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in detailed physical design, 5+ years in the nuclear power industry, and proficiency with 3D design tools.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent drafting experience.
• 10+ years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems and supports.
• 5+ years in the nuclear power industry.
• Proficiency with design software for 3D plant layout models.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment outlines and interfaces and coordinating deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/structural drawings for 3D plant layout.
• Coordinate with engineers and designers across disciplines.
• Plan and execute deliverables: general arrangements, piping isometrics, pipe supports, equipment locations.
• Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.
