Job summary

Re:Build is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the design of custom equipment and modular systems. You will develop 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, releasing designs for fabrication while balancing performance, manufacturability, safety and cost.

You will collaborate with engineering, fabrication and management teams, review designs, and mentor junior designers. This onsite role is based in Rochester and Rush, NY, with travel up to 25% and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

7+ years of mechanical design or equipment design experience in an industrial, manufacturing or engineering-services environment.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design of custom equipment and modular systems from concept through release for fabrication.
Develop 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Produce general arrangement drawings, layouts and BOMs using GD&T and welding symbols.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated equipment designs.
Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance to project teams and customers.
Mentor junior designers and drafters and improve design standards and processes.
