Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking an early-career Mechanical Drafter to turn engineering concepts into fabrication-ready drawings. You should be comfortable with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with a solid CAD foundation and a keen eye for detail.

The role is onsite in Rochester and/or Rush, NY, with occasional travel to customer and supplier locations. You will grow toward a mechanical or piping designer role while contributing to turnkey process equipment projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical drafting or CAD experience.
• Foundational experience with 2D/3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Ability to read and create basic mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and assembly documentation using CAD software.
• Support the design of mechanical components, piping layouts, and industrial systems.
• Collaborate with senior designers/engineers to translate concepts into fabrication-ready drawings.
• Develop and update BOMs, drawing packages, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication teams to meet project requirements.
• Assist with design changes, drawing revisions and troubleshooting during fabrication.
• Participate in design reviews and learn industry drafting standards.
• Contribute to improving drafting processes, tools, and documentation standards.
