Job summary

Meade seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer III to join our Mechanical design team. You will work on data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and high-profile projects, collaborating closely with staff, clients, vendors, and other disciplines.

You will develop HVAC and plumbing layouts in Revit, perform load analyses, size equipment, and ensure energy-efficient designs while meeting codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in MEP mechanical design.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software.
• Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit for multiple project types.
• Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing layouts within Revit (ductwork, piping, equipment).
• Perform engineering calculations for load analysis, equipment sizing, and system performance optimization.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical and structural engineers, and other disciplines.
• Write and edit mechanical equipment specifications and select equipment with cost-efficiency in mind.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders; assist with record drawings and site visits.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national codes and sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve challenges and improve design efficiency.
• Stay updated on Revit features, trends, and best practices to improve workflows.
