Job summary

JLRD, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to own end-to-end mechanical design scopes and mentor junior staff across our Florida offices. You will produce Revit MEP models, coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and fire protection teams, and support QA/QC on project output.

Based in Merritt Island or West Palm Beach, this on-site role requires strong communication and code knowledge, with opportunities across healthcare, education, government, and commercial facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of MEP design experience in institutional or commercial facilities
• Revit MEP proficiency for models and coordination
• Trane Trace or Carrier HAP for load calculations
• Navisworks for clash detection and coordination
• Deep knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, NFPA, and Florida Building Code
• Proven ability to own mechanical design scopes end-to-end

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end mechanical design scopes from concept to construction documents
• Produce Revit MEP models for HVAC, ventilation, hydronic systems, and controls
• Perform load calculations and equipment selection
• Develop mechanical specs and narratives; support commissioning
• Mentor junior designers and support QA/QC
• Coordinate with Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection designers and with architects
