JLRD, Inc. is a Florida-based MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and fire protection consulting engineering firm founded in 1991. Headquartered in West Palm Beach with offices in Merritt Island, Jacksonville, and Tampa, JLRD delivers all four engineering disciplines in-house across healthcare, education, government, federal, aviation, utilities and infrastructure, commercial and mixed-use, hospitality, residential, and mission-critical facilities.
We are privately owned and engineering-led. We compete on technical depth, not scale, and we build teams accordingly.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Electrical Designer is an independent producer within JLRD's Electrical discipline. This role owns assigned portions of projects from concept through construction documents, proactively coordinates with other disciplines, and produces high-quality electrical design documents that require minimal rework.
This is a design role, not a production-only drafting role. We are looking for an Electrical Designer who understands building electrical systems, can make design decisions within a defined scope, and has the coordination judgment to identify and resolve issues rather than simply execute direction. This is a Designer-track role, not a PE-track role, with the opportunity to progress to Senior Designer as technical capability and independent judgment develop.
This position reports to the Electrical Department Lead.
Position is based in West Palm Beach, Florida. On-site.
