Job summary

JLRD, Inc. in Florida seeks an Electrical Project Engineer who will lead electrical design on multiple projects from schematic through construction administration, coordinating with disciplines and clients.

This hands-on role requires independent engineering judgment, project ownership, and the ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget while growing toward senior leadership.

Based in West Palm Beach or Merritt Island, on-site with active collaboration within a growing MEP team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license, or PE exam passed with licensure pending.
• 5–10 years of electrical design experience in an MEP consulting environment.
• Experience with education, healthcare, government, commercial, institutional, or similarly complex project types.
• Proficiency with Revit MEP and NEC/NFPA/Florida codes.
• Experience with power-analysis tools such as SKM Power Tools or ETAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design efforts on multiple projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Coordinate electrical design with Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Architectural, and Structural disciplines.
• Provide construction administration support, including shop drawings, RFIs, and site observations.
• Mentor EITs and designers on project teams and support QA/QC processes.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, Florida codes, and project requirements.
