Job summary

Meade, a full-service design firm, seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer III to join its mechanical design team. The role covers data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile projects, requiring close collaboration with architects, electrical and structural engineers, clients, and vendors.

You will develop HVAC and plumbing layouts in Revit, perform load calculations, select equipment, review submittals, and ensure compliance with codes and energy standards while driving

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in MEP mechanical design.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Skills in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software.
• Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Top-notch organization, attention to detail with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit.
• Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing layouts within Revit, including ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
• Perform engineering calculations for load analysis, equipment sizing, and system performance optimization.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integration within Revit models.
• Write and edit mechanical equipment specifications, select equipment, systems, and devices with cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency in mind.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, assist with record drawings, site visits, and commissioning work.
• Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and national building codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and improve design efficiency.
• Stay updated on Revit features, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
