Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer at our U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will drive mechanical solutions, provide CAD modeling and drafting support, documentation, testing, and other technical assistance within a collaborative team.

You will mentor junior designers, contribute to design reviews, and apply knowledge of molding, machining, and sheet metal processes to deliver robust, manufacturable products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level not present; required degree is an Associate's as stated in the ad.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong CAD and drafting skills with thorough documentation experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the completion of complex mechanical designs for Garmin products.
• Independently complete derivative and basic mechanical design projects with minimal guidance.
• Master CAD user capable of handling difficult tasks.
• Mockup and test basic mechanical systems to verify design requirements.
• Mentor and guide less-experienced designers (1 & 2).
• Provide technical input and update designs per requirements.
