Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Intern - Mechanical Designer in the Greater Kansas City area to support mechanical design work. You will model basic parts, draft documentation, assist with testing, and collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Design teams to move concepts toward mass production.

You will work with CAD tools, contribute to documentation control, and help update designs based on engineering feedback. This internship emphasizes hands-on learning in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Solid foundation in math, physics and engineering concepts.
• Pursuing a degree related to mechanical design and CAD.

Responsibilities

• Support the completion of basic mechanical designs for Garmin or OEM products.
• Provide CAD modeling and drafting support, documentation, and testing assistance.
• Coordinate with engineers and designers to translate concepts into production-ready parts.
• Maintain documentation and adopt feedback to update designs accordingly.
• Assist with component sourcing and participate in basic test plans.
