Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to develop 3D plant layouts, piping isometrics, and equipment arrangements. You will utilize AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit to create deliverables, BOMs, and catalogs, ensuring consistency with P&ID requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership in design coordination, clashes resolution, and mentoring junior designers, with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• 12 years of detailed design experience in mechanical plant design drawings (piping, pipe supports, and equipment layout).
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout modeling and related design tools.
• Experience reviewing project deliverables and vendor drawings; interfacing with multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical general arrangement, piping isometrics, pipe supports, and equipment layouts in 3D models.
• Use AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit to generate design deliverables, BOMs, and catalogs.
• Interpret P&ID diagrams and ensure 3D models reflect engineering requirements.
• Lead mechanical design in coordinating detailed design phases for the 3D model.
• Resolve clashes in the 3D model and report status to stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor other designers and drafters on the team.
