Job summary

Meade seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer III to join our Mechanical design team. You will develop HVAC and plumbing layouts in Revit for data centers, industrial buildings, and offices, performing load analyses and equipment sizing to ensure optimal performance.

You will coordinate with architects and engineers, write equipment specifications, review submittals, and assist with commissioning and site visits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in MEP mechanical design.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software.
• Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
• Proficiency in BIM, CFD, Energy Modeling or equivalent tools for HVAC design and analysis.
• Experience in green building or energy efficiency projects (LEED, ENERGY STAR, USGBC).
• Commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing layouts in Revit, including ductwork and equipment placement.
• Perform load analysis, equipment sizing, and system performance optimization.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical, and structural teams for integrated mechanical systems.
• Write and edit equipment specifications; select equipment with cost and energy efficiency in mind.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders; assist with record drawings and site visits.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national codes and sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve issues and improve design efficiency.
• Stay updated on Revit features and HVAC industry trends to support continuous improvement.
