Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks a strongly self-motivated Engineering Technologist to join the Mechanical Design Team (AOT-MDE). The role focuses on designing accelerator-related components, vacuum/vessel systems, and RF-drive arrangements, guiding projects from concept through fabrication with tight GD&T control and collaboration with engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related field; 8 years of directly related experience, or equivalent.
• Extensive mechanical design and drafting experience with creative, practical solutions.
• Experience with SolidWorks or CREO and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the design and drafting process from concept to fabrication.
• Coordinate with engineers, machinists and fabrication personnel to implement design solutions.
• Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards in working designs.
• Communicate effectively with scientists and technicians.
