Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM is seeking an Engineered Systems Technician to join the DARHT Mechanical Systems Design and Engineering Team. The role supports maintenance, installation, testing, and upgrades of accelerator mechanical systems, with responsibilities scale for Tec1 or Tec2 level.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1-3 years related experience, be able to read mechanical diagrams, use tools, work in a team, and be willing to obtain a Q clearance.

Qualifications

• The ability to execute basic maintenance or new equipment installations with verbal and/or written instructions.
• The ability to read and understand mechanical diagrams.
• Experience using tools to work on mechanical systems.
• General knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, piping, filters).
• The capability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade DARHT accelerator mechanical systems.
• Assist in installation and testing of mechanical subsystems.
• Support design, modeling, and development of new mechanical equipment.
