Job summary

Chart-Industries is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to design and analyze mechanical systems and packaging for cryogenic equipment. You will size lube oil and seal gas systems, create 3D models, and release GA drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs while ensuring conformance to customer specs and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent; postgraduate study or experience preferred.
• Minimum of three years of relevant machine design experience.
• Turbo machinery experience is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with 3D modeling and large assemblies document control is a plus.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and API 614.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze a variety of mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
• Size lube oil and seal gas systems.
• Create and release 3D models, general arrangements, P&ID, BOM.
• Size reservoir, pump, separator, filter, accumulator, control valve, and instruments.
• Verify vendor drawings for design accuracy and customer specs.
• Interface with outside suppliers as needed.
• Assist troubleshooting in manufacturing and procurement.
• Ensure timely delivery of docs to manufacturing.
• Develop engineering reports and presentations.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to define design requirements.
• Determine root cause analysis and testing activities.
• Direct communication with clients.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve manufacturability.
• Support production of final product by troubleshooting issues.
• Report to a more senior Mechanical Design and Systems Engineer for complex projects.
