Job summary

Chart Industries in Canton, GA seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, document, and support HLH2 vehicle fuel systems from concept through installation. The role requires a BS in mechanical engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks and FEA tools.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the Heavy Truck / Automotive OEM supplier or manufacturer is a plus.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software: AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Experience with FEA using SolidWorks or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with APQP/PPAP/FMEA and control plans is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and support HLH2 vehicle fuel systems.
• Develop design solutions to meet end-customer requirements.
• Create iterations using 3D CAD systems.
• Evaluate designs via FEA and conduct vibration, shock, fatigue, and crash simulations.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings for components and assemblies.
• Coordinate specs with suppliers and Product Engineer.
• Support tests to validate a design.
• Ensure designs meet industry, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Be a technical expert for HLH2 fuel system.
• Contribute to DFMEA and DVP&R processes.
• Assist US/Europe teams on manufacturability and tooling.
• Provide engineering documentation for customer inquiries.
• Ensure ISO 9001, IATF 16949 compliance.
• Engage with standards organizations (ISO, NFPA, SAE).
