Southland Industries is seeking a senior engineering leader to provide design and engineering guidance on projects, attend design meetings as the engineering expert, and ensure adherence to engineering standards. This role leads a team of engineers and collaborates across disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions.

Formación

• Bachelors degree in Engineering is required.
• PE license is required.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in people management.
• Expert knowledge of systems design (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and design engineering aspects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients and general contractors.
• Proven ability to lead an engineering group.
• Strong public speaking ability.
• Strong computer skills, including CAD and Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Provide design and engineering support to other departments; partner with team to ensure engineering standards are maintained and followed; stay current on industry trends and issues.
• Manage conceptual design for specific projects; prepare complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating; perform complex calculations for projects (heating/cooling loads, equipment sizing).
• Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with construction documents and resolve design issues during construction.
• Attend project team meetings as design expert.
• Responsible for successful achievement of project goals and objectives.
• Manage a smaller group of engineers, including staffing, training, coaching and performance management.
