Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Design in San Jose, CA to lead complex mechanical system development. You will research concepts, create 3D models, run simulations, and validate systems while collaborating with customers, supply chain, and project leadership.

You will refine designs through manufacturing feedback, provide support across the manufacturing process, and ensure high-quality, robust product development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• 10+ years of Mechanical Design experience in storage/network/compute environments is expected.
• Experience taking product development from paper to mass production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects.
• Provide technical leadership to a global team of engineers.
• Review customer specs and act as primary customer contact when needed.
• Design and modify systems to meet customer and Celestica needs; create drawings for review.
