Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in its Flight Systems Engineering and Integration group. You will define mechanical interface controls, release integration drawings, and coordinate design solutions with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and a current Secret clearance. You will develop the mechanical interface baseline and present designs to customers, ensuring precision and clear communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active Secret clearance at time of application with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• The ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP).
• Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
• Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Ability to understand and interpret requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define mechanical interface controls and release integration assembly drawings.
• Coordinate design solutions alongside Flight Systems product teams.
• Develop the mechanical interface baseline and present product designs to customers.
• Ensure strong interpersonal communication and attention to detail throughout the project.
