Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer Mechanical to join our team in the United States. This role leads mechanical hardware design for weapon systems, reviews layouts, and coordinates with suppliers and internal teams.

You will use Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM, analyze design factors, and ensure ASME Y14 standards compliance. A DoD Secret clearance and STEM degree with experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years’ experience or advanced degree with fewer years
• US Citizenship with active DoD Secret clearance
• Experience with CAD using Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM

Responsibilities

• Incorporates edits and redlines to existing designs
• Facilitates ingestion of supplier drawings into Sentinel
• Develops data and preliminary layouts to present design proposals
• Investigates design factors (manufacturability, materials, cost) and coordinates with affected groups
• Makes layouts of complex assemblies and checks drawings for conformity
