Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Designer to contribute to a major defense program, developing mechanical/aerospace products and CAD models using Siemens NX and Teamcenter. The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of CAD experience, US citizenship, and an active Secret clearance.

The position supports full lifecycle engineering, with opportunities to work on aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and ground equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 3) of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen required; must have active Secret clearance at time of application.
• Ability to obtain SAP approval per business needs.
• Minimum of 2 years of CAD modeling experience (Siemens NX preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical engineering experience including mechanisms.
• Familiar with ISO, ASME, Mil Spec, NAS standards.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment and communicate technical content.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mechanical designer for mechanisms design on a major defense program.
• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and related equipment.
• Develop CAD models and 3D drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Verify specifications via modeling, simulations, and test data analysis.
• Support lifecycle stages from design to maintenance.
• Design components and perform stress and dynamic analyses.
