American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Mills River, NC to lead concept design, 3D CAD modeling, and mass production maturation for Honda Power Products (generators, lawn mowers, industrial engines).

You will model complex components in CATIA, perform FEA and FMEA, and guide small engineering teams through project milestones toward production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience in power equipment, engines, or powersports.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (CATIA V5/V6) and engineering drawings.
• Experience with tolerance stack-ups, FEA, and FMEA.
• Ability to lead small engineering teams and manage project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Model components, gearing, springs, and assemblies in 3D using CATIA.
• Perform mechanical design calculations including FEA, tolerance stack-ups, and FMEA.
• Lead small engineering project teams and track milestones.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Haw River, NC. You will lead concept design, 3D CAD modeling, and mass production maturation for Honda Power Products (generators, lawn mowers, industrial engines).

Key Responsibilities:

• Model complex mechanical components, gearing, springs, and assemblies in 3D using CATIA.
• Perform mechanical design calculations including FEA, tolerance stack-ups, and FMEA analyses.
• Lead small engineering project teams, tracking technical deliverables against SED and TE milestones.
• Facilitate prototype fabrication, supplier quote reviews, and production assembly confirmations.
• Investigate market quality feedback and engineer robust design countermeasures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design engineering experience in power equipment, engines, or powersports.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA V5/V6 preferred) and engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated competency in tolerance stack-ups, FEA principles, and FMEA.
• Proven ability to guide small engineering teams and manage project timelines.
