Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 3/4 to support launcher hardware manufacturing and installation. You will develop designs, generate solid models, and collaborate across teams to balance technical, schedule, and cost constraints, while ensuring GD&T and drawing standards are met.

The role requires on-site presence four days a week, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Experience with NX/CREO/SolidWorks and PLM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline, 5 years experience or Master’s with 3 years experience.
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
• Familiar with CAD modeling (NX, CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select best design approaches to fulfill requirements.
• Oversee drawing generation using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
