Job summary

Luxshare-Tech in Milpitas, CA, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the structural design of interconnect products from prototyping to mass production, ensuring performance, manufacturability and compliance while conducting patent research and collaborating across functions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years experience (8+ for seniors), proficiency in 2D/3D CAD, tolerance analyses, DFMEA, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience; 8+ for senior level.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in connector product development and validation.
• Knowledge of engineering plastics, metals and assembly processes.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD and able to perform tolerance analyses (DFMEA) and packaging specs.
• Experience with patents is a plus.
• Excellent English reading/writing for technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop product structures based on specs, including patent research.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate resolution of design issues.
• Create and release drawings, product specs, DFMEA, tolerance analyses and packaging guidelines.
• Prototype management and transfer to mass production; troubleshoot production issues.
• Document design guidelines and lessons learned.
• Mentor and train new engineers while leading projects.
• Support marketing activities, handle customer technical complaints and prepare application docs for market promotion.
