Job summary

GE Vernova Advanced Research Center seeks a Senior Engineer to lead mechanical design from concept to production across Power, Wind and Electrification. You will drive prototyping of high-temperature systems and optimize via FEA, aiming for aggressive cost reductions and robust HW/SW integration.

Must have an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years in fuel cell R&D; 10+ years in design, FEA, and high-temperature materials.

Qualifications

• M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 15+ years in fuel cell R&D and product development, especially SOFC or high-temperature electrochemical space.
• 10+ years mechanical design experience with SolidWorks/Autodesk Inventor.
• 10+ years applying advanced structural and thermal FEA (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation, or Algor).
• 10+ years high-temperature materials knowledge (Inconel, advanced insulation, stainless steels).
• 5+ years experience implementing GD&T and designing for high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and prototyping of next-generation systems from concept to production.
• Drive designs for high-temperature heat exchangers, insulation, and gas handling components.
• Use FEA/structural analysis to improve power density and thermal management.
• Execute cost-reduction roadmaps (40–50% target) via material choices and DFM.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate HW/SW integration with cross-functional teams.
• Manage program scope, vendors, and project schedules to meet milestones.
