RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer III to support nuclear hardware modifications and FOAK designs. Remote work with no travel is offered, and the contract runs about 12 months with a 40-hour work week.

The role requires advanced 2D/3D CAD, GD&T, and strong technical writing to develop documentation and ensure compliance with nuclear and ASME codes. Collaboration across teams ensures timely delivery and high-quality hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling with GD&T knowledge.
• Experience supporting fabrication and FOAK hardware documentation.
• Strong technical writing and engineering documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and update 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Perform engineering analysis and create specifications for hardware development.
• Collaborate with tooling and analysis teams to meet nuclear standards.
• Communicate design progress to field deployment, engineering, and project teams.
• Present designs during reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Develop technical documentation through design, procurement, and fabrication.
• Verify final designs against requirements and ASME/nuclear codes.
• Provide fabrication support throughout hardware development.
